The 2018 Landscape Awards, recognising the best work by ALCI members from across Ireland across a broad range of landscaping categories, were presented at Titanic Belfast on 22nd March.
Gary Graham, Bloom Manager Bord Bia, one of the judges, commented: "2018 was another great year to be an ALCI judge, with a wide range of entries, large and small, public and private. From play spaces to sports fields to modest front gardens to big budget high-end private gardens, from office space to meeting space to rooftop to educational spaces. The beneficiaries of these landscapes are legion - young and old, active and passive, children, athletes, students, workers, homeowners, neighbours, park users, commuters, clients, tourists, passers-by and last but not least, wildlife. We should never underestimate the value of the work undertaken by landscape contractors. Not every entry in the ALCI competition can be a winner but every piece of quality work adds to the quality of life for someone or some group of people living on this island and indeed, everyone who visits here for business or pleasure, So, ultimately, we all win. I congratulate everyone on their hard work and their achievements."
